Gavin Newsom’s ex mistress reveals pᴀssionate Sєx life details

Gavin Newsom’s former mistress said she and her ex-boss first had Sєx after she wore a white dress to their friend’s wedding and that she ripped every single one of his shirt ʙuттons off during a steamy H๏τel encounter, she revealed in a tell-all. 

Ruby Rippey Gibney, the staffer who had an affair with the governor of California in 2007 when he was the mayor of San Francisco, left very little to the imagination in a detailed rundown of their relationship in a Vanity Fair piece published on Tuesday. 

The 51-year-old provided a timeline of how the two came to know each other and when their physical relationship first bloomed. 

Both of them attended a wedding on July 2, 2005, where Rippey donned a strapless white dress to a City Hall staffer’s nuptials, despite her mother’s disapproval of her outfit choice. 

During the event, she and her now ex-husband and Newsom’s former deputy chief of staff, Alex Tourk, mingled with their colleagues as she downed champagne and wine while her dinner ‘went untouched,’ Rippey detailed. 

She soon ended up in a hallway with Newsom while waiting for the bathroom, and later in the night, they met again at a H๏τ tub. 

The rest of the evening was described as a blur by Rippey, but she said all encounters with Newsom were consensual – even the ones she was too drunk to remember.

She recalled the Democrat mᴀssaging her feet inside a chauffeured town car, and the next thing she knew, she was waking up next to Newsom in bed, ‘soaked from the waist down.’

She worked as Gavin’s appointment secretary and sat at a desk outside his office per his request so she could play ‘gatekeeper,’ Rippey said

‘I wake the next morning beside him, still dressed. I am cold, almost shivering, and my dress – the one my mother warned me not to wear – is soaked from the waist down. I had pᴀssed out. I had also wet the bed. (It wasn’t the first time),’ she wrote. 

While Newsom continued to sleep, Rippey quickly went back home to her husband Alex, who left the wedding early, ‘irritated’ with his then-wife because she wanted to stay out and ‘keep partying’ the night before. 

From that moment, things grew awkward at work, but she and Newsom continued to see each other. 

At the time, Newsom was separated and in the process of divorcing his first wife, Kimberly Guilfoyle. 

Rippey had planned a girls trip to Los Angeles after finding out that Newsom would be there for work.

While she and her friend enjoyed an afternoon glᴀss of wine by the pool at the Maison 140 H๏τel in Beverly Hills, Rippey got a text from Newsom that read: ‘You should come by.’ 

She soon rushed over to see him at the W H๏τel, and the next morning, she was greeted by ‘tiny shirt ʙuттons scattered like coins’ on the floor near the bed. 

At the time of the affair, Rippey was married to Alex Tourk, Newsom’s former chief of staff

Rippey quickly realized the ʙuттons didn’t belong to her and that she had ripped Newsom’s shirt in the heat of the moment the night before. 

She made her way back to her friend before deciding to ditch the trip and head home. During her travels, she cried on the plane over a ‘steady, stunned grief,’ Rippey wrote. 

‘I am overcome with the understanding that the consequences will not end with me. They may cost me the best thing that has ever happened to me: Alex. But worse, they will fall hardest on him – the person who least deserves them,’ she admitted. 

As soon as she landed, she opened up her phone to a message from Newsom that read: ‘Thank God the W had T-shirts.’ 

‘Only then do I understand – hazily – that I tore his shirt off, every ʙuттon ripped loose,’ she continued. 

During another Sєxual encounter, Rippey said she watched her lover ‘on all fours near the edge of the bed, scrubbing furiously at the carpet with a washcloth’ after she dropped a glᴀss of red wine.

Newsom married his second wife, Jennifer Siebel, in July 2008. They have three children

From the king-size bed, Rippey started to think there was no chance the stain would come out, but when he caught her gazing at him, Newsom snapped.

‘You know, we really can’t do this anymore. You can’t be doing this to Alex,’ she recalled him saying. 

Rippey divorced Tourk in early 2007. They have a son and appear to have a good relationship with each other. 

In a post from November 2025, Rippey shared an image of them and captioned the post: ‘Tonight I went to my ex-husband’s wedding to his third wife with my second husband. A really good night.’

Newsom went on to remarry his second wife, Jennifer Siebel, in July 2008. They have three children.
