Cardi B says she got ʙuтт injections reversed after fan criticism

Cardi B came clean about rumors that she had gotten her ʙuтт injections reduced in a recent chat with her fans.

The 33-year-old rapper admitted in an Instagram Live session that she has had her injections dissolved, according to People – days after sparking uproar with her plump posterior onstage at Pacha NYC. 

Cardi (real name: Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar) denied going under the knife to regain a more natural appearance, and she reportedly claimed to have not had any surgeries since January 2024, when she ‘reduced’ her injections.

‘A lot of y’all keep telling me to go get my a** reduced,’ the WAP rapper said. ‘I don’t need to go get my a** reduced. News flash: I did get my a** reduced.’

The Daily Mail has reached out to Cardi B’s representatives for comment but hasn’t heard back yet. 

She went on to explain that she couldn’t completely reverse the process for fear of being left with a drooping posterior.

Cardi said she ‘can’t just go and lipo[suction] my ʙuтт, because my skin is, like, kinda loose,’ which she said was ‘why my a** shakes so much.’

She explained that a liposuction procedure — in which fat cells would be liquified and then suctioned out of the body permanently for cosmetic effect – would be ‘the easy way,’ but it could cause her backside to ‘drop.’

‘So I would have to cut myself. And I’m not cutting myself,’ Cardi continued. ‘I’m not sitting down for four months. I’m outside, like I said. 

She added, ‘I like my body how it looks right now. I’m comfortable in my skin.’

Cardi also tried to differentiate herself from other celebrities who are considerably more opaque about what cosmetic procedures they have undergone.

‘I’m very, very honest,’ she said. ‘First of all, I got two lipos and one a** reduction.’

Ultimately, Cardi explained that she decided to get her plumped-up posterior toned down because she thought it didn’t suit her otherwise ‘peтιтe’ frame.

Despite opening up to her fans about her body modifications, Cardi also urged them to mind their own business, rather than obsessing about her body.

‘Y’all acting like y’all new to this,’ she said. ‘Y’all been seeing my body for how many years now? Too many.’

The hitmaker also tried to shut down fans who had speculated that her svelte figure had been achieved through cosmetic means.

‘Oh, “You look super super snatched,”‘ she said mockingly. ‘Yes, b****, just stop hating. I’ll tell you what I do so I could look snatched.’

While cautioning her fans on the livestream to not attempt to ‘starve’ themselves to slim down, which could be dangerous at worst and counterproductive at best, she claimed that she integrates grilled chicken and salmon into her diet. 

In addition to the lean proteins, Cardi said she tries to get plenty of fiber, which she boosts via healthy beverages.

‘That’s what I do. I’m being as honest as possible,’ she continued, according to People. ‘[Anytime] someone’s talking about, oh, I look good, y’all say I’m doing surgery.’

‘So shut the f*** up,’ she continued, urging her fans not to be ‘hating-a** b****es.’

Back in February, Cardi told Kehlani that she planned to go to Colombia after her tour wrapped to get her posterior reduced, but she backed off those plans a month later on the Today Show. ‘I was just gonna take a little bit of ʙuтт out, but I don’t have time for that,’ she said, adding that she had been feeling ‘really comfortable’ with her body; seen in February in Inglewood, Calif.

‘Enjoy your life. Enjoy yourself, enjoy your everything,’ Cardi advised.

In February of this year, she shared her plans to have her ʙuтт reduced during a run-in with Kehlani backstage that was captured in a video posted on Instagram by the radio host Big Boy.

‘You have so much a**!’ a shocked Kehlani blurted out in a crowded hallway after touching Cardi’s backside.

The Bodak Yellow rapper then announced her plans to everyone in earsH๏τ. 

‘After this tour, I’m taking some out,’ she said. ‘After this tour, I don’t wanna hear nobody for three months. I’m going to Colombia; nobody hit me up, nothing. I’m taking this a** out!’

But just a month later, the rapper claimed on the Today Show that she had backed off of plans to travel to Colombia to have her derriere reduced.

‘I was saying that, but I’m not gonna do it,’ she said. ‘I was just gonna take a little bit of ʙuтт out, but I don’t have time for that.’

But Cardi also said she had been feeling ‘really comfortable’ with her body, which made her plans less urgent.
