Beachgoer slammed for complaining about small child near her cabana

A beachgoer has launched a firestorm on the internet after posting a social media video complaining about a small child playing in the water in front of her cabana, claiming that the boy was ‘in her space.’

Sarah, who goes by the username @sarahsstillhere, shared a post to her 18 million followers on TikTok earlier this week of an elementary-aged child sitting in the water near her lounge chair.

‘Whose child is this? Why is he in front of our paid cabana? Come get your child?’ Sarah wrote alongside the video.

She added in the caption: ‘Parents really just do not give a single f*** anymore.’

The post generated thousands of comments with social media users sounding off over whether her complaint was justified.

‘Paid “cabana.” The ocean is sold separately,’ one comment read.

‘Hate people recording peoples children and posting them online. Stop,’ another added.

However, some agreed that they would not want children near them at the beach, with one writing, ‘So you guys can excuse leaving your child unattended near strangers in the ocean, but you draw the line at people wanting personal space?’

The woman argued that she had paid for the cabana on the private beach and did not want to watch someone else’s child (file pH๏τo)

Despite the negative comments, Sarah doubled down in a series of reply videos, claiming that the child was in her space.

‘Everyone is mad at me for wanting privacy and freedom from children being in my personal space; almost no one is mad about an unattended child by the ocean,’ she wrote in a separate video.

Sarah argued that she did not understand how parents could allow their children to be unattended by the ocean without a flotation device.

In another video, she called the ocean the ‘Child Drowning Machine,’ as she defended herself for not wanting to watch the child near her lounge chair.

‘If that child stood up from that tide pool and walked directly into that ocean and drowned, I wouldn’t stop them, for a lot of reasons,’ she added.

Sarah argued that she would not care more about a child than her own children, explaining that it was not her job to watch them.

In defense of her claim that she did not ‘pay for the ocean,’ Sarah said that she was vacationing at a private beach and rented the space in front of the lounge chair in addition to the ‘cabana.’

‘I paid for the exact spot that child was sitting in. I paid for no one to be there,’ she claimed.

‘This is how it works on private beaches. Maybe it’s different on public beaches. I don’t know. I’ve never vacationed on one of those.’
