Ariana Grande says hackers stole and leaked music and pics in lawsuit

Ariana Grande claims that unidentified hackers were able to gain access to the electronic devices of her ᴀssociates and stole music, video and images that they later sold.

The 33-year-old singer said in a legal complaint on Monday in California that the theft went on for years, according to court documents viewed by People. 

The Boca Raton, Florida, native did not name the people she believes were behind the hacking venture, as she is expected to request the court issue subpoenas to tech companies such as internet service providers to uncover the idenтιтies of those she feels were responsible.

Attorneys for the Thank U, Next artist said that the hackers targeted online accounts for professionals she has collaborated with, such as producers and pH๏τographers, according to the outlet.

The hackers went on to engage in ‘unlawful and egregious theft, dissemination, and exploitation of unreleased content,’ Grande’s lawyers said in the complaint.

The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Grande for additional comment.

Grande’s legal team said in the complaint that the hackers were able to make ‘significant sums of money’ after selling the ‘personal data and content on the dark web.’

The entertainer noted that much of the content that was stolen from her was recorded during creative sessions and ‘not intended for public consumption.’

In the legal complaint, Grande said that the hackers stole and leaked ’45 unreleased songs’ in 2023, as ‘hundreds of similar leaks have taken place’ since her 2011 debut.

An insider close to the musical artist told People that ‘the lawsuit is intended to serve as a deterrent against future acts of this nature – not only targeting Ariana, but also the many artists who have faced similar invasions of their privacy and theft of their creative work.

‘Artists deserve the right to control how and when their art is shared with the world.’

The insider noted that illegal ‘theft and distribution of creative work undermines that right and should not be tolerated.’

Grande said in the complaint that pᴀssword information for a pH๏τographer she had worked with had been stolen in 2019, according to an item from The Hollywood Reporter after reviewing the filing.

A producer Grande had worked with had been hacked in 2020, Grande’s lawyers said, which led to a number of elements from work sessions being leaked, including master recordings and demos.

Grande in 2024 made a reference to the issue while she appeared on the Zach Sang Show, pointing to the song Fantasize, which had been leaked on social media platforms such as TikTok.

Speaking of her collaborations with producer Max Martin, Grande called him ‘such an incredible friend these past few years’ whom she’s worked with closely.

She said, ‘We were – before I left for Wicked – a few studio sessions that I did which are all over TikTok, thank you so much, I’ll see you in jail – literally.’

Grande said the material had been ‘written for a TV show, for something that was not for me.

‘So Fantasize comes out, crazy, was stolen … these pirates, crooks, illegal!’
